- Complete the Dual Enrollment Graduate Form to confirm your plan to continue at FCC after high school.
- Declare your major or program of study on the form. Explore programs in our Program Finder or Career Communities. Still deciding on a major? Select General Studies until you meet with an advisor
to discuss your options.
- Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1st for priority consideration. Our FAFSA school code is 002071.
- The Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC One App) is available for undocumented individuals who meet certain requirements.
- Apply for FCC Foundation Scholarships beginning February 1 for the fall semester.
- Complete New Student Orientation and Advising
- Attend a Compass Day Orientation for group advising or schedule an appointment with your assigned academic advisor to build your class schedule.

Bridge to FCC for Dual Enrolled Seniors

Current dual-enrolled seniors and guardians are invited to Bridge to FCC to learn how to continue your education at Frederick Community College. Join us for
breakout sessions hosted by Financial Aid, Transfer and Career Services, and current
FCC students. All attendees will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win one of three $500
FCC tuition scholarships!

You do not have to fill out another application, but you will need to fill out the Dual Enrollment Graduate Form to confirm your plan to attend FCC after high school graduation and to declare your major.
Yes! Your dual enrollment credits are college credits and will appear on your FCC transcript. If you attend FCC after high school, those credits can count toward your degree requirements, depending on your program of study.
You’ll need to choose a major, but you don’t have to have it all figured out right away! If you’re undecided, you can choose General Studies and change your major later once you’ve had more time to explore your options.
Yes! You can change your major later if your interests or goals change. Your FCC academic advisor can help you understand how changing programs may affect your courses and graduation timeline.
Every student is assigned an academic advisor through Career and Academic Planning Services (CAPS) based on your program of study. Find your advisor by searching for your program of study under the correct career community. Your CAPS advisor is different from your dual enrollment advisor.

Yes! Many FCC credits can transfer to four-year colleges and universities, especially when you choose courses that meet your intended transfer institution’s requirements. Be sure to work with your Career and Academic Planning Services (CAPS) advisor to make sure your courses align with your transfer plans.
To apply for financial aid, complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) each year at studentaid.gov. The FAFSA helps determine your eligibility for federal, state, and college-based financial aid. Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC One App) is available for undocumented individuals who meet certain requirements. You can also apply for scholarships through the FCC Foundation to help pay for your education.
You don’t have to submit your high school transcript, but we recommend it! Providing your most recent transcript allows FCC to determine whether you qualify for a testing exemption. If you don’t submit a transcript, you may need to complete placement testing.
